Remote IPTV PIV Access

CDC Government Owned (GOE) versus non-CDC Equipment

  • Remote IPTV access through non-CDC computers and laptops is supported with ‘best effort’ by the ITSO Service Desk.
  • The CDC ITSO Windows 7 ‘standard image’ is optimized and tested for Remote IPTV access. CDC owned equipment must be configured with the CDC Standard ITSO Windows 7 image.
  • Use of any system to connect to Remote IPTV that does not meet the requirements described below is done so without expectation of support from the ITSO Service Desk.

Hardware Requirements

  • 1 Ghz processor and 1 GB of RAM minimum. For best performance, 2 GB of RAM recommended.

Operating System Requirements

  • Windows 8 - With latest Service Pack & hotfixes recommended.
  • Windows 7 - With latest Service Pack & hotfixes recommended.
  • Mac OS X v10.2 and above
  • Systems that are out-of-date with Microsoft security patches may be subject to problems when accessing Remote IPTV services.
  • •For non-CDC systems, check Windows Update to ensure that your system is up to date with the latest Service Packs and Hotfixes.

Web Browser Requirements

  • Internet Explorer v7, v8, v9 or v10 is supported.
  • Other browsers such as Firefox, Chrome, Safari, etc are supported by Adobe Flash Player, CDC technical support is limited to IE browsers.
  • Beta versions of web browsers are not supported.

Other Requirements (To ensure an optimal experience)

  • The latest Adobe Flash Player (installed locally) will provide for the best possible quality playback experience on Remote IPTV. For privately-owned systems, the latest Flash Player can be obtained from Adobe.com

Network Access Requirements

  • High-speed broadband connections, such as DSL or cable-modem work best for accessing Remote IPTV. Dialup will work, but may result in video buffering or playback issues.
  • If you are using a wireless network or one of the cellular “air cards”, ensure that you have a strong signal (3 or more ‘bars’). A weak signal will affect your ability to view Remote IPTV videos.

Authorization to Access Remote IPTV

  • Use of Remote IPTV requires a valid CDC network account and a SecurID token or PIV Smart Card. Contact the ITSO ServiceDesk for guidance.

This article is intended for system administrators who set security policy in enterprise environments that require smart card authentication.

macOS includes a modern architecture that supports smart cards. This architecture is based on the CryptoTokenKit framework, which supports authentication, encryption, and signing functions, plus MDM controls for managing smart cards within Enterprise environments. Starting with macOS Catalina, legacy smart card support that uses TokenD will be disabled by default.

Before you upgrade to macOS Catalina

If you want to migrate from legacy TokenD to modern CryptoTokenKit-based smart card services after upgrading to macOS Catalina, follow these steps:

1. Make sure that any third-party apps that you use support CryptoTokenKit.

2. Verify that com.apple.CryptoTokenKit.pivtoken doesn't appear in the output of this Terminal command:

defaults read /Library/Preferences/com.apple.security.smartcard DisabledTokens

Photos you import in this way are saved in your Pictures folder.Any other application that offers an “Import From Camera” or “Import From USB” function should work with your iPhone, too. How to download pictures from ipohne to mac.
